Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre (MMHRC)

Meenakshi Mission Hospital and Research Centre (MMHRC) is a well-known hospital in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, with an established system of fundraising through donation boxes, popularly known as hundis. MCC developed a hundi database to enable the hospital to keep track of its more than 750 donation boxes, and to help monitor returns from each. The database helped MMHRC classify hundis and develop a strategy for upgrading poorly performing hundis. MMHRC raises an average of Rs 60,000 every month through its donation boxes.
