We have the facility to provide physical space and support strategic initiatives of the CSO sector.

Here are the examples illustrating our services to the CSO sector.

Office space

  1. Credibility Alliance’s Southern Regional Office is based in our office building
  2. Rafiki – a Bangalore based Theatre group which uses drama to strongly project social issues currently operates from our office.
  3. Aide et Action – a medium sized international agency providing development support to organisations in India based its newly established fundraising department in our office for six months during 2009 as a help to getting under way.

Strategic initiatives
 

  1. Charities Aid Foundation (India) – CAF.  CAF India provides a service to build bridges between the corporate sector and voluntary organisations and especially promotes increased funds flow. MCC provided the first location for initial activity in India and helped to recruit the first CEO.  Registered in 1998, CAF India is now a member of CAF International. www.cafindia.org
 

  1. Financial Management Services Foundation – FMSF provides legal and financial advisory service to the voluntary sector, especially helping International agencies. MCC conducted the survey for a major German international development agency which resulted in the formation of FMSF and assisted with the recruitment of the first CEO. Registered in 2000. www.fmsfindia.org
 

  1. Survey on the size of the Indian voluntary sector – We were active in an advisory capacity for the first national research on the size of the Indian voluntary sector conducted by PRIA Delhi.  This research (part of the international research under the auspices of the Johns Hopkins University) estimated 1.2 million active organisations in India, of which 600,000 were registered. Published in 2000. www.pria.org

  1. Credibility Alliance – Has established Norms for public disclosure and good governance. MCC played an active role within the initial core group especially during the period 2002 to 2004 which through a series of workshops throughout India crystallised the formation of the Norms which have been adopted. We continue to actively promote the Norms through our consulting and training.  www.credall.org.in
 

  1. GuideStar India - a member of GuideStar International, aims to build a national database of the CSO sector, in collaboration with the Government and other entities. MCC provided physical space and steered initial operations for 12 months including formation of the legal entity in 2008. Presently, GuideStar India is based in Mumbai . www.guidestarindia.org
 

  1. CSO Partners provides encouragement and support to strategic initiatives of the sector. Provided the physical base for the first six months and assisted in the recruitment of the CEO.  Within the first year of operations (2008-2009), especially assisted with the emergence of three initiatives: www.csopartners.org.in

    1. UnLtd India  which identifies and supports early-stage social entrepreneurs.  www.unltdindia.org

    2. The Hub India  provides physical space and advisory support to small organisations.
 

Annual Report Awards A national awards to encourage transparency of the CSO sector through Annual Reports. The first award was initiated in 2009.  www.annualreportawards.org
