Challenging opportunities
CSO Partners is a new organisation incubated by ICICI Foundation (Chennai) and MCC (Bangalore). It is an initiative that strives to strengthen the voluntary sector, maximising impact by improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of individual organisations. CSO Partners will serve the needs of civil society organisations by fostering strategic partnerships with agencies and institutions that possess expertise across diverse areas of functionality. These include retail fundraising, volunteering, communications, Board related governance, film making, branding…
We are looking for a team – to help us get going – which has a strong commitment and sensitivity to civil society and the voluntary sector. Selected individuals are likely to be in the age range of 25 to 35 with skills in the following area:
1. Communications
Responsible for marketing and promoting CSO Partners (Chennai)
· Marketing of CSO Partners to all stakeholders (CSO’s partners and contributors)
· Enhancing the visibility and branding of CSO Partners in the larger public
· Media relations, electronic and print
· Development, up-dating and maintenance of the portal
· Production of communication materials like brochures and leaflets
Education Qualification: Any degree in communications
Experience: A minimum of three to five years related experience with an Ad agency, PR Firm or in a corporate communications team.
2. Voluntary sector relations
Responsible for initiating, building and sustaining partnerships with the CSO organisations (Bangalore)
· Responding to articulated needs of CSOs that approach the portal
· Passing on enquiries to the partners appropriately
· Assessing the needs of the CSOs in a strategic fashion and matching them with an appropriate partner(s)
· Referral management – co-ordination and follow-up relating to referrals of organisations to specific partners and facilitating positive relationships
Education Qualification: Post Graduate in Social Sciences.
Experience: Three to five years of related experience with voluntary organisations in middle to senior positions, ideally in positions of decision-making.
3. CSO Partner relations
Responsible for relations with existing partners and identifying new partners as needs emerge (Chennai)
· Identifying appropriate partners based on needs as they emerge from the CSOs
· Ensuring that existing partners are delivering to the CSOs being referred to them through CSO Partners
· Encouraging mutual support between partners and active collaboration
· Supporting partners in developing their own capacities and building scale
Education Qualifications: Post Graduate in Social Sciences or business administration
Experience: Five to seven years of related experience within the voluntary sector
4. Donors relations 2 positions
Responsible for relationships with companies and individuals who wish to engage with civil society (Mumbai and Chennai)
· Referring companies and individuals appropriately to relevant partners
· Assessing and understanding the motivations and intentions of donors so that the most strategic and sustainable relationships are fostered
· Support CSR initiatives
Education Qualifications: MBA or Post Graduate in marketing communications
Experience: Three to five years of related experience either in service industry or the voluntary sector.
5. Financial Controller/ Chief of Administration
Responsible for legal and statutory compliance, financial and general administration (Bangalore)
· Budgeting and monitoring of income and expenditure
· Expenditure approval, payment and allocation; and systems of control
· Production of financial reports to help with decision-making
· Maintenance of accounts of CSO Partners, bank transactions and tax remittances
· Maintenance of records of staff salaries, leave and social security schemes such as gratuity and accident relief
· Liaison with auditors and other financial consultants
Education Qualifications: CA or MBA in finance
Experience: Not less than five years of related experience either in service industry or the voluntary sector.
Location May be subject to negotiation.
Salaries Within the framework of national Indian voluntary organisations.
