Vacancies in the voluntary sector

MCC – Murray Culshaw Consulting – helps voluntary organisations communicate with, seek support from and become accountable to the public. We provide consulting services and training in communication and fundraising. We also conduct research pertaining to communication, fundraising and philanthropy; and evaluation of programmes and governance.

MCC strives to create a working environment that enables individuals to work independently on agreed priorities and deadlines, while contributing to the overall work of Team MCC. To the extent possible, we create small teams to work on projects so that particular projects are not completely dependent on individuals.

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals who have the conviction that they can bring about positive change in society. We are ready to take on freshers, but would prefer individuals who have some relevant experience and an understanding of social issues. Appropriate qualifications will help, but are not the deciding factor. Salaries and benefits are more in keeping with the Indian voluntary sector than the corporate sector.

These positions are more suitable for individuals already based in Bangalore – these positions do not qualify for relocation allowances.

Position Design Coordinator (Rs 8 – 12,000 per month)

We need a Design coordinator who will conceive and produce communications materials for voluntary organisations. The person must work with the communications coordinator to conceive ideas and translate them into effective visuals and take responsibility for printing-related decisions and printing of materials. Experience of working on a variety of design tools is essential

Position Research Assistant (Rs 8 – 10,000 per month)

We need a research assistant to help with our research and evaluation work on the effectiveness of voluntary organisations programmes, communication and fundraising. The person may have qualifications in sociology, social work or development studies. The individual should preferably have one to two years of experience and should be willing to travel to rural areas. Knowledge of languages would be useful.
